HTC X9 Flagship Revels Specifications

Taiwanese tech giant HTC has gone through a lot of criticism in last few months due to its flagship devices, which failed to turn the heads. Their latest attempt- One A9, which is a decent Android handset was criticised for being an iPhone lookalike. That said, the company seriously needs a product that puts it in the motion with the other big fish in the market.

This might change with the news that HTC is working on a new device that seems to be the most powerful smartphone around. According to the popular Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, they are working on their top-of-the-line handset – named HTC X9 and might unveil the device anytime in the first quarter of the 2016.

As per the reports, HTC One X9 features a 5-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display and will be backed by either to be launched Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, or the high-end MediaTek Helio X20 CPU, which is the first SoC with 10-cores. Either way, the smartphone will be a beast in terms of raw power and might give a hit to the company’s dying flagship smartphones.Besides, HTC X9 will offer 4GB of RAM and will come in 64GB and 128GB variants. Reports also say that the smartphone is likely to sport a newly designed 23MP rear camera along with the company’s signature but improved 4MP ultra pixel front-facing camera.

HTC might also include a powerful 3,500mAh battery unit to improve the overall battery performance of the handset. The expected smartphone will definitely run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, as the recently launched A9 also has the latest version of Google’s Android OS.

It will be interesting to see whether HTC will go with the same iPhone lookalike design that A9 has or will rework it completely to save its image.
