Meizu Pro 6 to be powered by the Samsung Exynos 8870

Report claims the Meizu Pro 6
will be powered by the Samsung Exynos 8870 chip
Meizu might have released the Pro 5 smartphone just a few months ago, but the rumor mill is already abuzz with reports of a successor releasing in the markets.

According to the newest revelation, the company’s upcoming Pro 6 smartphone will be powered by the Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset. The Meizu Pro 5 is powering the Exynos 7420 SoC, the same processor that’s running on all four 2015 Samsung Galaxy flagships.

For those unfamiliar with the Exynos 8870, it is supposedly the less powerful variant of the Exynos 8890 that is expected to be donning some models of the upcoming Galaxy S7 flagship. Despite being slightly underpowered, we can expect the chipset to be a star performer compared to most flagships of 2015.

These reports are emerging from Chinese sources and there’s no confirmation of its authenticity as of yet. In any case, make sure you take this with a pinch of salt as reports of this nature have a tendency to change in no time.

Before the arrival of the Pro 6 though, Meizu would want to release the Pro 5 smartphone in wider global markets as its reach is currently limited to China. The device packs a large 5.7-inch Full HD (1920×1080) AMOLED display, a 21MP camera and a decently sized 3,050 mAh battery underneath.
